On Board your Strategic Flight

Here are a few things you might like to know for your flight.

MEALS

Onboard, Strategic provides a complimentary meal suiting the time of day. Tea, coffee and water are provided free of charge. Alcoholic and other non-alcoholic beverages are provided at a charge. Requests for special dietary requirements limited to vegetarian and gluten free will be happily met by the staff at Strategic by simply calling the Customer Contact Centre on 135 320 at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure.

TRAVELLING WITH MEDICINES

Before leaving home, and if you're travelling to an international destination, you should check that your medications are legal in the country you are visiting. You can do this by contacting the country's embassy or high commission. When planning to travel overseas with any medicines, it is important that you:

  • consult your doctor and discuss the medicine you will need to take
  • carry a letter from your doctor detailing what the medicine is, how much you will be taking, and stating that it is for your own personal use
  • leave the medicine in its original packaging so it is clearly labelled with your name and dosage instructions

If you intend to travel with large quantities of medicine, including over-the-counter or private prescription medications, you should ask your doctor, dentist or pharmacist to provide you with a letter explaining why you need to carry such quantities.

Special Needs

It is important that you inform Strategic of any assistance that you may need during your trip.  Please phone Strategic’s Customer Contact Centre on 13 53 20 to advise of your requirements so that Strategic can endeavour to provide you with the highest level of comfort.

Travel Clearance

Strategic wishes to ensure the welfare and safety of all passengers including those who are pregnant or have recently had medical treatment. Any passenger (including children and infants) wishing to travel following medical treatment and/or discharge from hospital will be required to submit a Travel Clearance Form (available by contacting Strategic) completed by their treating doctor. This form must be returned to Strategic (Fax 07 3169 3901; email reservations@flystrategic.com) at least 48 hours prior to the date you wish to travel. In the absence of receipt of this form, Strategic may not be able to clear the passenger for travel and the passenger may be unable to travel on their preferred flight.

Do you need Oxygen?

Strategic permits the carriage of BOC Oxycare Travel Packs aboard its flights. If you require oxygen either continuously or occasionally while flying, Strategic can assist you. BOC Gases and other similar suppliers provide "C" size oxygen cylinders. BOC Gases offer the travel packs for either hire or purchase. These travel packs fit the oxygen bottle inside, which enables you to carry the oxygen on board.

All oxygen cylinders must be contained in the travel pack before they can fly. BOC Gases will discuss with you how to operate the oxygen bottle. Your oxygen flow rate should be prescribed by your doctor, as your crew is not responsible for this.

For more information telephone BOC Gases on 1800 050 999.

Baby on Board!

At Strategic we understand how precious your little one is. That is why you can bring on-board your infant car seat for your baby's comfort.

When travelling with an infant the following restrictions apply:

  • Under 7 days old - infant not permitted to travel.
  • 7-14 days old - travel permitted once Travel Clearance Form (see above) is submitted and authorised by Strategic Airlines.
  • Over 14 days old - providing infant is healthy, Travel Clearance Form is not required for travel.
  • Birth Certificates must be shown at Check-In as proof of infant's age.

To travel with an infant car seat you must ensure:

  • The car seat is in good condition with no cracked or damaged edges
  • The seatbelts and harness are fully functioning
  • If you are travelling with an overseas car seat, the design standards accepted are:
    i. United States FAA, British CAA, or European Community Regulations.
ii. All labels should be clearly visible and are on the base of the seat.

If your car seat does not meet these standards then unfortunately it will not be allowed to travel.

Strategic Airlines is not permitted to use Baby Capsules or Baby Booster Seats in the cabin. However, we have infant seatbelts if you don't wish to use a car seat.

All bookings for Unaccompanied Minors must be made through the Strategic Customer Contact Centre on telephone 13 53 20 or a travel agent. Children aged between 2 and 5 years may only travel if accompanied by an adult or with a brother or sister aged at least 15. Children between 5 and 11 years can travel without the supervision of a person at least 15 years of age as Unaccompanied Minors. Children aged 12 to 14 can travel unsupervised but may be treated as Unaccompanied Minors at the request of a parent or guardian.

The parent or guardian must assure that:

  • The sender remains at the airport until the aircraft on which the child is travelling has departed.

Before you travel, you should contact the Embassy or Consular representative of the country you will be visiting, to identify the passport validity requirements.

At check-in, you will need to show all relevant travel documentation for the country you are visiting. This may include an Entry Visa and/or proof of a Return/Onward ticket.

To ensure that you comply with current entry requirements, contact the Embassy or Consulate for the country you are travelling to.
