Security Measures
From 31 March 2007, the Australian Government introduced enhanced security measures to limit the amount of liquids, aerosols, and gels that can be taken through the screening check point for passengers flying to international destinations.
All containers holding drinks, creams, perfumes, sprays, gels, toothpaste and similar substances are to be carried in a re-sealable transparent plastic bag, no larger than one litre, (20 cm X 20 cm) and are to be inspected separately at the airport screening check point when an international passenger is taking such items onto an aircraft as carry-on baggage.
Each container should not have a capacity greater than 100 millilitres and all containers should fit comfortably in the re-sealable plastic bag. Exceptions will be made for passengers with medical conditions, or those carrying quantities of baby food necessary for the flight. These items may however be subject to additional security checks. Passengers are still permitted to take on board items purchased after screening, including duty free.
Baggage Allowance
Passengers on domestic and international services are allowed 23 kilograms of checked baggage (30 kilograms for Business Class) and 7 kilograms of carry-on baggage (7 kilograms for Business Class). Carry-on items must not exceed 105 linear centimetres. An additional allocation of 10 kilograms per person for checked baggage will be allowed for sporting equipment, e.g., bowls, surfboards, golf clubs. Please note that excess baggage charges will apply for passengers exceeding baggage allowances.
Check-in times
To ensure sufficient time for Customer Baggage reconciliation procedures and to maintain on-time departures, customers travelling with Strategic will be encouraged to check-in at airport locations within prescribed times. Generally, the latest check-in times will be published on customer tickets and the Strategic website. Presently, our check-in times are as follows:
